Pumpkin Pies To the First Responders and Others in Newtown
The idea came from Claudia "Socks" Boerst and quickly grew into a wonderful delivery of pumpkin pies in November to many who did so much in the hours and days following the Sandy Hook school shooting. These were also the recipients of our bouquets of long stem red NOSES. Claudia was assisted by several other Red Nose Responders in Connecticut.
At the Newtown Board of Education, our RNR responders were personally shown some of the hundreds of quilts made in memory of 12/14/12. At the Newtown Florist, they were each surprised with 3 long stem red roses as a token of appreciation. The cheery "chef" pictured is RNR responder Dawn "Granimoose" Palmer.
We would also like to recognize Costco for giving our responders a $25.00 gift card to help with the purchase of the pies.
